Memories of Marvin, The APPLE of Our Eye

  • Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God 257 Shaw Street Toronto, ON, M6J 2W7 Canada (map)

Join us for an afternoon of fur, frolicking and fundraising for BUTTONNOSES Rescue; it’s the long-anticipated kick-off paw-ty for BUTTONNOSES Social Club weekly indoor tiny-dog meetups… but this isn’t any old meetup. On November 4, you are invited to our fundraiser, lovingly called Memories of Marvin: The Apple of Our Eye. While the event will still bring together oodles of adorable pint-sized pooches (10 lbs and under) for fun, food and friends – for both pooches and their pawrents – this event has a special significance: to celebrate the life of our dearly departed Marvin – a tiny pup with a big personality, who changed the hearts of everyone who met him. Read more about Marvin HERE.

Tickets for the Memories of Marvin paw-ty are now available online for $35 (or at the door for $40, pending availability) and includes entrance to the event for one pup and one pawrent. Tickets for additional humans and pooches of the same family can be purchased for extra $10, both online and at the door. Humans sans pooches are also welcome (buy your tickets for $35 online or $40 at the door).

In addition to the usual fun, this special ticket includes lots of fun and delicious delights, such as:

·       Lots of yummy treats and “drinks” for the pups.

·       A plant-based buffet from NANDO’S Restaurant for the pup parents (gluten-free options available).

·       Coffee, tea and awesome desserts.

·       A fun photoshoot for all of Marvin’s friends.

·       Two tickets to the raffle, with prizes brought to you by Sparkle and Barkle, My Healthy Pet, Fresh Fields and many other dog-friendly companies that are near and dear to our hearts.

·       A best-dressed contest, where the event pawticipants will vote on their favorite Halloween costume or fancy outfit, so make sure your pooch is dressed to the nines if you want to win the grand prize, provided by PetVibe.

·       An overflowing, take-home gift bag for the first 50 fur-families, filled with treats for both pups and their pawrents.

·       Music and merriment.

Don’t have a pooch but want to come watch all the teeny pups in action? No problem. You can still come and enjoy kisses and cuddles from all the teeny weeny furry guests, including our very own foster pooches, Blu, Pepito, Twiggy, QT and more.

Only a limited number of tickets will be available at the door, offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Don’t take a chance; buy your tickets online TODAY!

As always, ALL of the proceeds of the event will help BUTTONNOSES Rescue continue their amazing work: saving senior and special needs dog-babies - like our angel, Marvin – and giving them better lives, filled with love, happiness and yummy treats!

At the event, we will also be sharing some exciting news about our new ongoing fundraising campaign, organized in conjunction with PetVibe, called Marvin’s Legacy Foundation (of course, also named after our favorite often-grouchy, always adorable pup, Marvin). Marvin’s Legacy Foundation aims to raise $10,000 for BUTTONNOSES Rescue over the next few months, ending on (what would have been) Marvin’s 15th birthday, July 19, 2019. With these funds, BUTTONNOSES Rescue will be able to expand their work, giving homes to even more senior and special needs dog-babies this year and into the future!

So, how do you like them apples?

Wondering about the event’s apple-licious theme?

It’s a nod to Marvin’s favorite thing: he used to love to gnaw on the crabapples in Nasim’s backyard when all the other pups were outside playing.
