Jasmine - R.I.P

Meet Jasmine - October 2017

Jasmine is a gorgeous sweet but stoic 14 year old Pekingese . If you are meeting her for the first time you might think she isn't interested in people but you couldn't be more wrong! When she came into our foster care she immediately fell in love with her foster Dad, Stan. Her pekingese nature makes her aloof but when Stan comes home she is running back and forth, jumping on and licking him.
She is thrilled with her foster family too. She bosses around Charlie the Jack-chi foster brother. Even with his strong personality he's no match for Miss Sassy-Jaz.
Her eyes are cloudy from age and she's not as speedy as she once was but she knows what she wants and how to get it with her irrisistable scrunchy face.
Although Jasmine was well loved, her owner could no longer take care of her as a result of MS and moving to a long term care facility. She was pretty tiny when she arrived probably due to the stress but she promptly put on some good weight.
Jasmine has a number of mammary tumours, and a couple of weeks after coming into our care, she had to undergo an emergency surgery for pyometra (infection of the uterus). Our little fighter did fantastic, although she was so sick and even thinner than when we first got her, she made it through surgery and is all healed and back to her sassy self . She has settled right into her foster home and we have decided it's in her best interest to keep her where she is for the rest of her days.
We couldn't be more proud of her spirit and hope that she has lots more time on earth to spread her Jasmine Joy.

BUTTONNOSES Rescue relies on the generosity of donors to cover the cost of care required to keep dogs in our Forever Foster program comfortable during their remaining days.
