Before you apply for any of our irresistibly adorable pups, please read this page in its entirety, paying special attention to the DOs and DON'Ts.
Thank you for your interest in adopting a BUTTONNOSE!
Please DO NOT apply if:
● You are under 25 years old.
● Not all of your household members are on board with this adoption.
● You are planning or anticipating a major life event (i.e. baby, move, trip, surgery etc.) in the next 8 weeks.
● You are looking for a dog you can take to off-leash dog parks (Here is why you shouldn’t).
● You do not believe in and will not implement annual wellness checks by a veterinarian.
● You do not agree with and will not adhere to a holistic approach to pet parenthood.
Please DO apply if:

● You understand that tiny dogs are fragile and require specialty care and attention.
● You agree that, and will adhere to, a holistic care program which is in the best interest of your pet’s livelihood. This continuum of care builds on the holistic foundation we have already set within our rescue.
● You agree to follow a minimal vaccine protocol to avoid the dangers of over vaccination.
● You agree that ‘preventative’ chemical flea and tick medications can potentially kill your dog, so you agree to avoid this type of treatment . There are much safer options.
● You agree to ONLY feed your dog a wholesome and fresh food diet (we can help you pick one). This means NO kibble or nutritionally void commercial food.
● You agree to ONLY train your dog with gentle and force-free (R+) methods.
If you have read the above and think adopting a BUTTONNOSES Rescue dog is still right for you, then please continue reading and follow these steps!
Step 1:
Complete and submit an Adoption Application. Please be aware that completing an application form does not guarantee approval to adopt a dog from us. We will contact you for a phone interview within 3 days only if we feel that you might be the right fit.
Step 2:
If Step 1 goes well, we will move on to reference checks, Home Visit, and a Meet and Greet with the pup you have applied for. We require that all members of your household be present during these sessions.
Step 3:
You are not in any way obligated to adopt the dog at this point, but if we all agree that this is the right dog for you, you can pay the adoption fee, sign the adoption contract, and make it official.

Please DO NOT complete an application if you don’t see any dogs listed below. Unfortunately we are not able to hold on to your application until a pup becomes available for adoption in the future.
Many of the dogs we welcome into our rescue are in need of medical attention, which may include dental work, ear/eye infection treatment, blood tests, spay/neuter, surgeries, alternative treatments, etc.
Each dog is vetted according to their specific needs before going to their forever home. Medical costs can often be excessive. We welcome donations to help cover the cost of vetting bills.
