Muskrat - Adopted

Meet Muskrat - July 2019

Muskrat is a shy and quiet darling. He does not require extensive exercise but prefers not to be left alone for long periods because he misses his humans. He is very good with small children but would be best placed in a home with older children as he enjoys alone and quiet time. Muskrat would be an excellent fit for adults who are retired or who work from home.

Muskrat only eats a soft food diet as he does not have a lot of his pearly whites left.

Muskrat has a heart disease and is on daily medication indefinitely. He is living a normal life and his heart disease is not symptomatic. But he needs to have his calm and quiet so that he doesn’t put a lot of stress on his little heart. Thanks to his gentle and calm nature, he pulls it off effortlessly.

Muskrat is house trained and also uses pee pads. He does need to pee every few hours so if he is not taken out frequently, he needs to have access to pee pads at all times. Muskrat does at times wake his foster mom up during the night to take him outside as he cannot always hold his bladder through the night. But his foster mom is happy to do so as he does reward her with a kiss every time.

Muskrat is almost blind and can barely see anything. Maybe some shadows. So his environment needs to be suitable and safe for a blind but oh so hopelessly handsome pup like him.

Muskrat is a very loving an affectionate pup and would make a loving companion to the right person.
