Adoptable Dogs in our SAVE A LIFE PROGRAM
If you are interested in adopting one of our beautiful and adorable adoptable dogs, please follow these steps:
Complete and submit an Adoption Application. Please be aware that completing an application form does not guarantee approval to adopt a dog from SALP. We do not approve applications on a fist come first serve basis. Our goal is to find the perfect home for each and every dog. We will take into consideration all of the information that you provide in the application as well as the personality and needs of the dog that you apply for to determine if you are the best match for that particular dog.
If we determine that you are potentially the best match for that particular dog, we will call and have a chat with you so that we can get to know you better. If that goes well, we will move on to processing your application, including checking references.
Time to schedule a Home Visit for you. We require that all members of your household be present during the home visit. We will check your house and yard for any safety concerns and discuss any questions that you may have about adopting a rescue dog as well as the specific requirements of the dog that you have applied for. Besides, it’s always nice to put a face to the wonderful kind-hearted people that have decided to provide a loving home for a rescue dog! We would like to welcome you to the BUTTONNOSES TM Community, as the possible adopter of one of our SALP dogs, in person.
Upon approval of the home visit, you finally get to meet and possibly adopt your favourite rescue dog in the world!
We usually ask that you go visit the dog at his current foster home, but in certain circumstances we can make an exception and make other meeting arrangements. We prefer to play this part by ear. You are not in any way obligated to adopt the dog at this point, but if both you and the foster parent feel that this is the right dog for you, you can pay the adoption fee, sign the adoption contract, and make it official.
Welcome to the BUTTONNOSES TM community! We will be here from now on to meet your every doggy need, and support you in every step of the way.
Adopting a rescue dog is one of the most exciting and rewarding events of your life, and we are honoured to be a part of it.
Many of the dogs we bring into SALP are in need of medical attention, which may include dental work, ear / eye infection treatment, blood tests, surgeries, etc. Each dog is vetted according to their specific requirements and ALL dogs receive their basic vaccinations and are altered before going to their forever homes. Medical costs can often be excessive. We welcome donations to help cover the cost of vetting bills.
